This MSD85 DME "2FA4 Incorrect Data Record" Repair Service for the following years / models / series / engines: 2007-2014 / X5 X6 X5M X6M 550i 650i 750i / E70 E71 F07 F10 F11 F06 F12 F13 F01 F02 F03 / N63 S63 V8 4.4L Turbo.

This service will repair 2FA4 - Incorrect Data Record, caused by missing coding in the DME (code 2FA3 – Coding Missing also present) or mismatched coding between the DME and CAS.

Missing coding issue happens after complete vehicle or DME programming (regardless of the ISTA/P version used). This cannot be repaired by programming and/or coding with ISTA/P and often DME and / or CAS replacement is recommended by the dealer.

Mismatched coding between the DME and CAS happens after DME replacement with a used DME that was coded to another car with different power class. In such cases the DME is locked for coding due to working hours not being equal 0, STAT_BSZ_WERT=0. This cannot be repaired by programming and/or coding with ISTA/P and often DME and / or CAS replacement is recommended by the dealer.

Car will start and run but 2FA4 - Incorrect Data Record code will be stored in the DME and cannot be cleared. Engine will be in limp in / fail safe mode and will not rev up over 1500 RPM. Loss of acceleration or overall performance will be felt when driving.
